Default Cozumel all-inclusive?

What are the best all-inclusives in Cozumel?

I don't know about best but I can fill you in on Hotel Cozumel, as of about 2 years ago... This was the first (and last) all-inclusive that I did. The rooms were really nice and so was the pool. The restaurants were nice too but crowded because the buffet had lines that almost went outside the hotel grounds. So, you either waited in the long buffet lines or went to the in-house restaurant but the food wasn't that great and service... well, if you haven't been to Mexico then you'll have to learn that by yourself <grin>. Also, by the time we got up to the food in the buffet line, several things were out and their answer was "sorry, try tomorrow night". The other thing I did NOT like was all-inclusive meant drinks too - but whenever you asked for a drink they gave you this tiny dixie-cup size drink. I started asking for 2 drinks each time but that got really annoying carrying around little drinks and I could not get a drink for my girlfriend that way either (4 little cups are hard to carry!). Keep in mind this was about 2 years ago also! I would hope that Hotel Cozumel has changed its ways!
The room had a good in-room safe too, but do NOT lose your key to the safe! It will cost you $100-200 and you have to wait on the VEEEEERY slow locksmith on Cozumel to come break the lock. There were some people that had to wait another night to go home because of this! We treated our key like gold!

Default Thumbs Down on All-Inclusive Cozumel

Do you really want an all-inclusive? I've stayed in 2 in Cozumel and had pretty bad luck with both. I have also tried a couple of hotels there...and had better luck. Unless you're taking little kids, skip the all-inclusives. Especially if you have any desire to do anything besides stay at the resort. Most of them are pretty far from town ($20 cab ride perhaps). There are some hotels that are pretty reasonable and are right in town, or a whole lot closer. If you're worried about food..some of them have deals to include breakfast or lunch or both or they have enough of a kitchen to keep you fed. If you're planning to dive, don't bother with all-inclusive there, it's more of a pain then it's worth.

Check out the Cozumel Palace. Stayed there in Aug last year & it was great.
10 min walk into the center of town as well.

For me, a big part of the fun of Cozumel is all the great restaurents in San Miguel. Good, inexpensive, and all over town. The trick is to stay at a place close enough to town to make it convenient and affordable by taxi (or your rental car.
