Default Curacao Diving

Great diving off of the Sea Aquarium reef - as good as Bonaire. Animal Encounters at the Sea Aquarium is a fun hour of diving for all levels of divers wanting to experience enclosed diving with big fish, stingrays (without barbs!) and feeding encounters with sharks and sea turtles - the latter two are behind plexiglass fences so don't worry. Lots of fun! For diving elsewhere on the island, we found "The Dive Bus", a boutique dive operation where owners Mark and Suzy, and their dive masters Andy and Kevin, go out of their way to make sure their guests have the best possible diving experiences. They are situated right in the middle of one of the hottest beaches on the island and there is great shore diving right outside their shop. Two tank dive trips include a picnic type lunch with everything you'll need for an enjoyable surface interval.

We had lots of trouble with Ocean Encounters, a big dive operation who we felt operates with a monopolistic, holier than thou attitude with lots of back room ineffeciencies. One of the main reasons for our visit to Curacao was this particular dive and we were never able to do it. Despite written and in person confirmations of a this dive trip, we were bumped due to over booking. They still have not responded to my refund request which is indicative of how they operate. Much more to say about them if anyone is interested.

I absolutely agree with Maltmanks... Seascape at Hilton is a GREAT operation. It's a small, detail-oriented operation; no huge churn. The two dive masters currently on staff really know the entire island (Curacao) and can tailor experiences to the interests skill level of visitors. I think it would be a wonderful place to take your Husband - plenty to do under water and on the surface. Highly recommended.

Check the date on her post, they've probably already gone.
