Default Diving in the Grand Caymans

In a few short weeks my family and I will be heading on a Caribbean cruise. One of the stops will be at the Grand Caymans. Rather then book the dive through the cruise line, I was trying to find better deals/better dives through local dive centers. Does anyone have any suggestions as to whom I should go with? I've dug up some places, such as Divers Down and Aqua Adventures.... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Go online and contact the shops. When you book through a cruise line you may end up getting "micro managed" by a Dive Master who will not let the group dive their own profiles. It happened to me and my wife. Result: short unintersting dives always waiting on newbys. Ask questions.

Dusty,

That is a great suggestion, one that is a common answer for a reason. My family recently went to hawaii on a cruise and did 2 days of diving through the cruise line and 1 day with just a local contact. Obviously the best diving was with our own arrangements.

Scaddude.... You are on the right track, I would contact as many dive shops in the Carribean to see what they offer, and book it independant of the cruise ship. It is likely that these dive shops depend on the cruise line for their tourist income and are very familior with the schedules associated with cruise lines... like when you need to be back to the boat, etc. So ever though you book your dive independantly, you'll be fine.
